DALLAS SUMMER MUSICALS ANNOUNCES
TEXAS INSTRUMENTS AS PRESENTING SPONSOR
Announcement coincides with Dallas Summer Musicals’ 75th Anniversary Season
Dallas, TX….Dallas Summer Musicals, Inc. (DSM), the largest producer of live musical theatrical entertainment in the Southwest, announced today that Texas Instruments will be the official presenting sponsor for Dallas Summer Musicals’ 2015 75th Anniversary Season. Funding from both Texas Instruments and the Texas Instruments Foundation will help support DSM’s 75th Season.
The announcement was made by Michael A. Jenkins, President and Managing Director of Dallas Summer Musicals, at the season kick-off party June 12, 2014. “This partnership underscores Texas Instruments’ philosophy of community involvement and volunteerism, as well as their commitment to giving back through innovative philanthropy programs and partnerships,” Jenkins said. “TI’s generosity and community spirit are to be commended. Their donations of time, talent and funds are the definition of a good corporate citizen.”
Jenkins said, “We are honored to acknowledge TI as DSM’s official presenting sponsor. For many years, TI has generously supported DSM, and we have enjoyed a solid, longstanding relationship. Anytime we can continue to reinforce an established bond with greater support from and recognition for a company that is committed to our organization and the Dallas area, it makes the agreement that much sweeter.” Jenkins continues, “As a non-profit organization, DSM relies on funding from the community to bridge the gap between ticket revenue and rising production costs. The corporate support of community-minded organizations, like TI, makes it possible for us to bring the Best of Broadway to Dallas at affordable prices and to continue to grow our education and community outreach programs.” Jenkins adds, “TI is a first-class organization that is enriching our local community through their contributions, and we are grateful to be their partner.”
Andy Smith, Executive Director, Texas Instruments Foundation, said, “We are proud to continue our support of the Dallas Summer Musicals, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate DSM’s 75th anniversary than to be the presenting sponsor. TI invests in the arts because we know that it helps improve the quality of life in our community, it makes our city more vibrant and a better place to live. That helps our community build a stronger economic base, attract new businesses, potential employees and visitors to our city. The DSM, with their education and outreach programs and outstanding performances, is a vital component of the Dallas arts community.”
