When attending a DallasSummer Musicals (DSM) production at the
Music Hall at Fair Park there are several different parking options available,
detailed below. There is also a map located here. Please read the State
Fair section carefully for important parking and traffic information during the State Fair of Texas.
GENERAL PARKING:
Parking on the Fair Grounds is provided without additional charges on a first-come, first-served
basis for most subscription performances. Some of the spaces closest to the Music Hall are
reserved as indicated below. For general parking, please enter the fair grounds at Grand Avenue.
Dallas Summer Musicals typically will provide a courtesy tram in the parking lot.
HANDICAP PARKING:
There are a number of designated handicap parking spaces adjacent to the Music Hall available
to handicap patrons on a first-come, first-served basis. For handicap parking, it is easiest to enter
the fair grounds at First Avenue. Please also take advantage of the circle drive in front of the
breezeway for dropping off and picking up passengers so they don’t have to walk from the lot.
PAID VALET PARKING:
The valet parking stand is now located in the circular drive on the First Ave. side of the Music
Hall. For your convenience, the DSM Box Office now offers valet parking in advance for $17.00
and Ticketmaster at $17.50 per performance. (A $2.00 - $2.50 service charge per performance is included
in these prices.)
SUPER STAR AND ABOVE CONTRIBUTOR PARKING:
Contributors to DSM’s Annual Fund of $2,500 or more benefit from the closest possible reserved
parking. Please enter the Fair Grounds at First and Parry Aves. The special cordoned-off section,
indicated with a silver star, will correspond to silver-colored hang-tags distributed to contributors
prior to the beginning of the season.
To make a charitable contribution, please call the Development Office at 214-421-5678, ext. 157.
SHOOTING STAR AND SHIMMERING STAR CONTRIBUTOR PARKING:
Contributors to DSM’s Annual Fund of $500 to $2,499 receive the benefit of reserved parking in
the upper lot (between the Music Hall and the African-American Museum). Please enter the Fair
Grounds at First and Parry Aves. Green-colored hang-tags are distributed to these contributors
prior to the start of the season. Corresponding parking lot signage will also be in green.
To make a charitable contribution, please call the Development Office at 214-421-5678, ext. 157.
PRODUCERS CIRCLE PARKING:
Members of the Dallas Summer Musicals Producers Circle receive reserved parking in the upper
lot (between the Music Hall and the African-American Museum). Please enter the Fair Grounds
at First and Parry Aves. A Producers Circle hang-tag (one per every four season tickets) is
included with your season tickets.
GUILD PARKING:
Members of the Dallas Summer Musicals Guild receive reserved parking in the lower lot, close
to the Music Hall. Please enter the Fair Grounds at Grand Avenue. Light blue hang-tags will be
distributed prior to the beginning of the season and will correspond with light blue parking lot
signage. Call 214-373-2380 for information on joining the Guild.
THE STATE FAIR OF TEXAS AND FAIR PARK:
The 2010 State Fair of Texas runs Sept. 24 – Oct. 17. During the Fair, the State Fair controls
all of the fair ground parking lots and valet parking. Patrons wishing to park on the fair
grounds or valet park will be subject to the State Fair parking charge and will compete with the
general public for parking spaces. The State Fair does NOT reserve any spaces for DSM
patrons. DSM Contributors, Producers Circle and Guild members do NOT have reserved spaces
during the Fair. The State Fair provides handicapped parking near the Music Hall.
In addition, the State Fair schedules a number of popular events that draw large crowds to the fair
grounds. Parking is at a premium during these events and traffic may become extremely
congested. You should allow a large amount of extra time to arrive and/or make alternate travel
arrangements such as DART rail, bus, taxi, or chauffeured ride. Events that have led to this
situation in past years include the Grambling vs. Prairie View game (Sep. 25th), the Texas vs. OU
game (Oct. 2nd), and headline acts that appear on the Main Stage. In 2010, Baylor and Texas
Tech will play on Oct. 9th. For additional information about events scheduled during the State
Fair visit their web site at www.bigtex.com.
DART's new Green Line to Fair Park:
Please check with DART to find out if you can ride the green line to and from the fairgrounds, to avoid traffic and parking problems.
For questions regarding performance times or parking information, please call The Box Office at (214) 691-7200 or click here. Visit www.bigtex.com for updated State Fair of Texas events and information. |
